According to lottery officials, the lucky man checked his number on the Michigan Lottery’s official website following the draw and was stunned to see he had won the multi-million-dollar prize. “I really liked the odds of the Super Raffle game, so I bought a ticket here and there,” he said.
In a moment of disbelief, he called his wife over to share the news — and joked she may have “stopped breathing for a minute” before reality set in.
The winner traveled to Michigan Lottery headquarters to claim his prize and opted to take a one-time lump sum payment of approximately $4.1 million, rather than annuity payments over time.
Officials say he plans to share part of his winnings with his children and save the remainder for the future.
The Super Raffle is a special Michigan Lottery game that offers a limited number of tickets and features a top prize of $6 million, along with several other significant prize tiers.
