The ticket in question was issued by TattsLotto for draw number 4629, held on 29 November 2025. The winning numbers drawn were 22, 10, 17, 5, 44 and 36 — with supplementary numbers 3 and 11.
Across Australia, that draw produced eight division-one winning entries. Each winner was to receive a payout of AU$ 791,600.91 — and the Hampton tradesman held one of those coveted tickets.
He purchased his ticket at a local newsagency, Bluff Road News @ Lotto, located at 412 Bluff Road, Hampton East.
Unclaimed — Until He Checked
Because the ticket was not registered with TattsLotto’s members’ club, there was no automated alert to notify him of the win. As a result, he remained completely unaware of the payout — and the ticket quietly sat in his wallet for about a week.
It wasn’t until he visited the same newsagency to buy his regular weekly lottery ticket that a staff member told him: “You’ve got a win that’s too big to pay out.” Only then did the reality sink in. He later recalled that reaction as running through his head: “I just went ‘Holy s***!’.”
“It’s scary to think about because I could’ve easily lost it,” he admitted, reflecting on how close he came to misplacing the ticket.
Plans for the Prize
While some might rush out to spend instantly, the tradesman said he intends to handle his windfall responsibly. He described plans to consult an accountant and consider investing a portion of the money. At the same time, he hopes to treat his family — including an overseas holiday — as part of celebrating their newfound fortune.
Given how common it is for lottery tickets to go unregistered — and sometimes remain unclaimed — his story serves as a reminder for all players: always register tickets and check them carefully.
